I am known as an electric bassist - my inspiration the play the bass comes from watching and listening to Keeter Betts, Milt Hinton, 'Slam' Stewart and most respectfully you. I thank the artistry of Christian McBride, and Buster Williams in unknowingly guiding me to you and the bass violin at my age of 69. I am still in my prime and I trust that the Universe will allow me to be as gifted an upright player as I see you, (with a little bit of me in it). I met you while attending Ramsay High School in 1987 or 88, and was honored to be able to play with yourself, Ellis Marsalis, and Jothan Callins in the very first City Stages (with Birmingham's All City Youth Jazz Ensemble). That memory has lasted 20 years, and I sincerely thank you for that. I am now working with the Museum of Urban Art and a few other projects, some music related.
